01

The best input condition can change

Battery state and converter architecture influence the input a device prefers. An adjustable supply can reduce conversion losses in suitable designs. Battery configuration, circuitry and thermal management still matter.

02

Similar purpose, distinct options

PPS specifies voltage in 20mV steps and provides programmable current-limit behavior. AVS voltage requests use 100mV steps and do not implement the same current-control mechanism. Available ranges come from the advertised APDOs and device support.

03

AVS is not exclusively EPR

PD 3.2 also covers SPR AVS. PD, PPS and AVS support are different claims. High current can still create cable losses, so voltage adjustability should not be mistaken for a promise of cool operation everywhere.
