01

A large supply does not force a large flow

If a charger offers 9V up to 3A and a phone requests 9V at 2A, the selected condition represents up to 18W. A separate 20V/5A option does not cause the phone to receive 100W automatically.

02

Wattage alone is not enough

Two 100W chargers may offer different voltage profiles or PPS capabilities. The cable can impose another limit. In the illustration, the 15W charger lacks 9V, so the example phone chooses a 5V condition instead.

03

A contract is not a consumption reading

An 18W agreement does not mean a battery continuously receives 18W. Battery state, temperature and the phone’s own workload affect consumption. This mechanism assumes functioning, compatible equipment; it is not a guarantee for faulty products.
