OPPO introduced VOOC with Find 7 in 2014. Fast charging could involve a coordinated phone, adapter and cable, rather than simply increasing voltage. Higher current also brings resistance and connector-design considerations.

2016: a brand meets a shared standard
Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4 announcement describes USB Type-C and USB PD compliance. A proprietary brand and a common PD communication mechanism can coexist. Different branding does not establish completely different underlying communication.

Compare shared problems without inventing a genealogy
PPS and AVS also address efficient, adjustable supply for charging systems. That is a technical comparison, not proof that one particular proprietary system directly created PPS. When reading a capture, inspect actual PD/PPS requests and vendor data rather than inferring everything from a brand name.
